Trouble loading bloodlines in my new muzzy
« on: March 25, 2023, 08:12:51 AM »
I just picked up a knight ultralite and have about 20 rounds down it shooting power belts to break in the barrel. I tried to load some bloodline 275 grain bullets and it wasn’t even possible to get it past the crown. This is the bullet I have used in my disc and disc extreme and want to keep using them. Do I just more rounds down the barrel or has anyone found a different sabot that works?  Thanks

Have you tried the crushed rib sabots?  Look like a sabot with a bunch of lines/grooves.

Pretty common with those combos.
Love the bullet. Hate loading them.
There are other sabots that may help. The orange map or a harvester crush rib.
Those are a long bullet so they need to load pretty snug.

Are these the bullets you used to take your bear and you elk last season?  I am assuming you were happy with the performance?

The 300 and the 275's load very well for me in all of my Knights with the MMP Orange .457-.458/50 sabot.

And you are right! REALLY really good bullets to hunt with

Keep shooting muzzleloaders - They are a blast!!

It happened to me years ago too. Bought the same manufacturer of a muzzy and assumed the same bullet combo would work. All barrels are different so I have a different set up for each. You’re just going to have to find the load combo that your barrel likes. No different than working a load for any rifle … good luck 👍🏼

This combo is what I have used in my Bighorn.
