By the report, you go in with 0 points. That also aligns with what the others have stated as well.

That makes no sense. If you don’t draw the points used were what you had going into the draw. If you do the points were what you had going into the draw plus this year’s point??

I agree with you, don't make sense. You should go in the following year with a point.
But i wonder if you draw, that takes your point away for the year.

Correct. You get a point for every year you don't draw, so those points aren't added until after the results are known, when you successfully draw you go back to zero.

Sprinkles are for winners and points are for losers. That's the way I think of it.

Last year there were more tags than apps for the archery unit I applied for. This year there are a lot of NR's that didn't draw.  I'll guess that is largely a function of WA hunters fleeing WA.

However, my luck is not all bad: There were only 3 NR apps drawn after I drew my buck tag. In fact, a group of 4 NR's didn't draw just after me because there were not enough tags--the group of 4 was one too many. 3 other NR's drew after them. Also, in the spring bear hunt, I was the last NR to be selected in the 25% pool.

Getting tougher to draw OR as an NR!

Kind of sucked for us.  Wolves really cleaned house on the elk.  I made three trips down there from the opener to about the 22nd of the month and never heard a bugle.  One of my hunting buddies did here two different bulls bugle over a 4 days time.  Thinking late rut for where we were.  Talked to hunters that hunted a bit higher elevation and they had a little action but not too much.

It was a great one day hunt in Oregon!
Wife shot the buck she wanted not the biggest in the herd of 6 bucks, But she is happy and it was a great job putting it all together going from a half mile to 125 yards in the wide open.
Good hunting to all!!
