49 Degrees North Horse Packer?
« on: August 21, 2023, 08:18:29 PM »
I got lucky and drew a 49 Degrees North moose tag.  After doing some scouting, there are quite a few gated roads closed to motorized vehicles that might prove challenging to pack a bull out of especially if the weather is warm.  I am curious if anyone knows any horse packers in that area that a guy could hire to help pack out meat.  Having killed moose before I know what a task it is when you get one down and just want to have all options available if needed if I am able to get one.  Thank you.

No, he was just listing them in order of level of backcountry hazard, starting with most hazardous. LOL

I've got a story too lol we weren't moose hunting but there was a different version of the ghost in the darkness. Only time I've ever been legitimately scared in the woods. I still look over my shoulder when I'm alone more often than not.

I too would like to know the outcome..

There were some really good teasers mentioned too, BTW, (great to derail the topic!)

I've been in on 3 Shiras bull's; we got one loaded whole, one was as easy as pie to pack-out, and one was a flat-out b1tch!
