20 gauge 2 3/4 shell shotgun, why is there no turkey shells for the 2 3/4 shell

My 15 year old son inherited a semi-auto 20 gauge from his grandpa in WY that only takes 2 3/4 shells. Why is there no one selling a turkey round for the 20 gauge 2 3/4 shell? It has a fixed improved modified choke on it. The shotgun is probably from the 70's and was predominantly used for upland bird hunting like pheasants and quails in South Dakota. One turkey trip, we just used a # 4 duck shell and he was able to harvest the turkey at around 30 yards. I don't like the pattern though.

Why not just try some high base pheasant loads in 5 or 6 shot?

No that's an option! Thanks.

Federal Premium, Winchester, Hevi-Shot, Kent, Fiocchi and Remington make them. You may need to shop around or on order online.

Any high base 4, 5 or 6 shot will work great. Use a full or even better a turkey choke and you will be fine. We shoot a single shot break action shotgun with a fixed modified and whack turkeys to 30 yards.

Apex makes them in TSS, might be cheaper to set up a loader

Cabelas and sportsman’s warehouse sells turkey loads in 2 3/4 for 20 gauge. Easiest to order online IMO.

I just use high base pheasant loads in my guns (12, 16 & 20) in shot sizes 6 & 5. I bought 20ga TSS the year before last. I shot one tom with it and it's didn't die any faster than they did with pheasant loads.

Still have the hoarders out there. Was in Cabellas a month or so ago and picked up a box of hevi shot 20 gauge and a guy right behind me grabbed all of the remaining boxes. (About 6 or 7) casually asked him why he needed so many and he simply said he liked to keep plenty on hand. Suppose that's all right, but sometimes I like to think of other hunters who just need a box to get thru the season. I kinda think that guy was gonna resale as he had several boxes of other type ammo in his cart. I thought Cabellas had a limit, but guess not
