I will be out on the Olympic Peninsula again. Maybe this is the year for a true Rosey hog.

Made it out for the Oregon opener this weekend and was able to make it happen with my pops! The packout damn near killed us and i had to send an SOS "need pack help" message to a buddy who was 2 hours away. He dropped what he was doing, drove out and climbed into the grind with us and we got it out by 2am.
The old man did great and was still kicking ass the whole way!

Opening day bull, spike with a broken antler. When I saw him walking toward me I noticed the right antler was sagging way down. I coaxed him into 30 yards and made him hang out long enough to give me a great broadside shot. When I recovered him, his antler was still attached to the skull but I believe the skull was fractured near the antler base. I figure I may have helped him out a bit, but elk are super tough and he likely could have lived a long life with a funky antler if he hadn't walked into bow range. Good luck out there to all hunters this season!
