« on: September 28, 2023, 02:34:22 PM »
Wanting to make a custom cribbage board or 2 for Christmas presents and need some wood for it. New to this so no preference of wood type. If you have a slab that would work for this please let me know what you have and price you would like for it and we will go from there!

Thank you in adavance

Are you looking for something already milled? I have some short and smaller diameter logs of Paulownia tomentosa that many hobbyists use for crafting items. They have been down for over a year so should be fairly dry. Yours for free if you want them.

Depending on the size of the logs I might be willing to grab them from you and mill them up and share them with the guy

What do you mean by mill them up? New to woodworking. If this is something that needs to be done with this wood perhaps I could come watch/learn from you when you mill them up?

Do yourself a favor and get a template for the hole part of the cribbage board.
I am not a woodworker and have no idea what I am doing, but I like to dabble and mess around. I used a template from Jeff Mack Design and it was money on the final product. He also has templates for shapes to play with epoxy and bow tie things to hold cracks together.  I was testing out both of those on a piece of wood, that I then used the cribbage template on and ended up with a decent board out of my test piece of wood.

My sawmill is at my cabin in eastern Washington right now , but yes if they guy has raw logs they have to be cut into boards somehow first.
