Future Elk Camp Partners
« on: October 31, 2023, 08:36:14 PM »
Good Evening,

Had a great season this year hunting in Oregon/Montana/Washington.  Next year I plan on setting up a decent elk/Muley Camp east side.  I would like to find some like minded folks that live near Marysville/Everett that want to put time in and build a yearly tradition.  About myself, I recently retired from the military and just moved back to Washington this last year.  I plan on hunting 3-4 weeks a year during modern deer/elk out of a base camp (16x20 davis tent).  I also hunt west side for other game.  I have my father that will be hunting with my yearly and hopefully eventually brothers but currently its just my father and me.  I put in work and would expect the same for anyone joining my camp.  I normally set up quite a few cell cams and start scouting in the summer with my younger kids.  I am 38 and have kids 18 (currently at WSU so not hunting for 3 more years), 10 (taking hunters ed), 8.  What I would really like is some people close by that would like to do stuff throughout the year.  Not many close friends still in the area since they were all military and have moved on.  If this is something you would be interested in, can contribute and are serious about hunting shoot me a message and we can chat.

Side Note: I may also hunt ID next year if I can snag some Disabled American Veteran (DAV) tags.

Sound like your mainly looking for just elk camp hunting partners and not necessarily in the field hunting partners.

Yeah basically, I mean I can set up a camp myself and all of that but I just figured it would be good to have some friends to hang out with in the evenings.  I do not necessarily need a hunting partner but just figured I would throw this out there and maybe meet some lifelong friend's.

Hello, I joined this site yesterday in hopes of finding some people to hunt with who are familiar with public land in Washington and came across this post.  Im located in Marysville as well.  I have only harvested a handful of deer, most of which in the last 3 years and all out of state on friends or family’s private land. Feel free to shoot me a message and we can exchange contact info if you’d like.

I was wondering if you were able to get DAV tag for Idaho?

I tried but the stupid queue system sucked.

Just came across this post. Im in Lake Stevens and same boat, retired mil last year and came back to the area. I hunt big game primarily on the Eastside, and make multiple trips throughout the year. Good luck on the OTC Idaho tags, only a few days to go to see if the system has gotten any better.
