Hello all you General Season elk hunters that hunted the Yakima North areas (GMU's 336, 346, 340 and 342)
Can you please share any insight you may have learned over your last several days up there in the Umtanum, Little Naches, Manstash and Taneum units? I know that there are several youth hunters/parents connected to HuntWA that have youth cow tags that start today (Nov 1-12) for those units (and my son is one of them) and I've been reaching out to the others who have also asked about Yakima North units so we can try and share information to help our kids try and fill their cow tags if possible.
I'm hoping some of you that were up there chasing spikes this week will be able to share any insight on where we might be able to find some of the cows for our kids to tag. If there is any weather pushing them down the hills yet or if they are still staying high and in the thick stuff? Any suggestions will help. I know a number of us have been up there scouting in the summer/early fall but obviously with the pressure this week - I'm guessing things are changing constantly.
Thanks in advance for any updates you can share!
