In Idaho your odds will rarely improve over time. Most of the time they will go down as applicants increase, and you're locked in at 0% for the other species.I too hate preference point systems, but don't mind bonus points since you still have a chance regardless of where you're at.I'd rather take a slim chance at all than a small chance at one. And for what it's worth, I'm in for moose. Idaho does have more tags - but I prefer their system. Every hunter in my entire family has drawn moose tags.Last years Idaho moose tags (517) divided by moose applicants (7384) = overall 7% of applicants getting a moose tag. There were close to 75,000 apps for elk tags alone last year. You start letting E/D/A people put in for M/S/G...you absolutely turn the system into less than 1% of applicants getting a moose tag which means the vast majority of folks will never draw in their hunting lifetimes. But its all a game of trade-offs...<1% chance at moose is not 0...and you can also draw some E/D/A tags along the way.Great breakdown. This why I support the current system 100%.

For those of us that didn't draw, has anyone gotten there money back yet?
There is a moose tag available in hunt area 27. Looks like it’s been many years since a tag was filled, but if anyone wants a second chance there it is.
