I drew the 49 degrees north late moose tag, I'm looking for as much information as humanely possible. If anyone is willing to help I will be forever grateful, super excited just not sure where to start. Thank you to everyone in advance!!!!

That is an awesome tag. I had it many years ago. If you can I would start spending whatever free time you have getting familiar with the unit.

I think I enjoyed the scouting trips almost as much as the hunt.

Best wishes.

Thank you, do you have any starting locations to start with? Or even a good access point to start?

I don't know what access is like now but I would head east out of Chewelah into the hills as a starting point.

My Brother shot a nice mature one antlered bull on the 3rd day. He’s in Idaho hunting right now but I will try to get a hold of him when he gets back. Hopefully he has some helpful information.

You can see moose nearly anywhere in that unit. The more gas you burn, the better chance of seeing moose.

If you think you have driven enough drive more. Cover ground and talk to deer hunters

I have the 1 and only quality late mule deer tag in that unit.. I’ve seen two monster bulls and a few younger ones while hunting for my mule deer. I suggest putting miles on your rig/ boots on the ground. No offense, but this is my last year hunting WA. Have 22 points literally in my back yard for this draw. Hard for me to give out locations to a non local. Good luck to you 👍

No offense, but if its your last year hunting in WA, why not help an oil permit holder out????

Agreed, we are all hunters. Its a OIL tag. Not like it would be saved for a local unless they get lucky as hell like the OP did.

Sure hope you have a change of heart on that Jimmer!

Being one of the few that have had the opportunity to hunt moose in this state, I’d love to help someone get their moose.  When I retire next year, I plan on looking for big bulls just to help out, hopefully I live closer.  Helping someone out to get a deer, turkey or even an elk is very cool, but watching someone take their first bull moose, hard to explain how satisfying that is to see!
“In common with”..... not so much!!
