Wa TIP program question ***update***
« on: June 26, 2024, 04:54:36 PM »
Anyone know what happens after a tip is submitted?  I called them this morning and directed them to a video on the internet that shows what in my opinion is an unlawful act of taking an animal.  I gave them my contact information and now how do I track this? What is the process?

The video offers specific names, very recognized location and the unlawful killing of what I would consider a trophy big game animal

They will reach out to you. If it gets investigated.

This looks like a good experiment to see how long it takes them to get back to you. The Clocks ticking! I am guessing about two weeks.

Fair enough .
Never went through the tip process, sorry can't answer.
Investigation could take a day, month, years ,who knows.
If it is as bad as it sounds, probably not a bad thing to turn it in.

If not already done I would download and save the video.  Because if it is incriminating and the posters figures it out they will remove if they can.
In God we trust, all others bring cash.

Do not say, Why were the old days better than these? For it is not wise to ask such questions.

Update
It's been 2 weeks since my initial TIP. I called today to see about an update. The kinda rude female who answered said I needed a FOIA request submitted.  I said you have all my contact information and I'm sure my name is in your system regarding this  TIP.  nope--gotta do the paperwork. I emailed Chief Steve Bear around 11.  Told him about the situation and I was just looking for an update, all my contact details are on file, and anything he could do to help me would be great.  About 3 I get a call from someone who reports direct to the chief ( sorry I forgot his name).  He tells me yes it is being investigated.  Told him great that's all I needed for now.  Asked him if he watched the vid.  Yes---ok what was your opinion on it ? " I don't have one.  I take the evidence, give it to my Officers and they have their discretion ".  At  least someone is looking into it
