Oregon Antelope, found some good ones.
« on: August 08, 2024, 04:10:29 PM »
Drew an archery tag this year. Went out to the big antelope honey hole today and found a couple good ones. Got a few trail cameras on some water I'm that area. Hopefully they make it through the rifle season.

Here's #1, tall boy.

Here's #2. The Bully. He doesn't tolerate any other bucks anywhere close to him.

That is a nice looking pronghorn. What part of the state are you hunting?

Good luck.

It's the east side. I'm going to be vague. A guy can still hunt it more than once in his lifetime.

I started applying for Oregon antelope about the same time I started hunting antelope in Wyoming. It's been tough for me to get excited about Oregon antelope but I will try to use up my points one of these years.

I tried antelope hunting with archery gear once and realized how challenging it is. That takes some discipline and patience.

You're close to being able to draw some good units.

Went out yesterday and found another solid buck. Not quite as big as the first two but if I even have a chance at any of these bucks with archery tackle I'll be happy!

My season is over. Didn't fill the tag. Had more opportunities then I thought I would. Missed a booner opening morning on a long hard shot. Had other 4 other good bucks in bow range but never gave the right angles for shots. Learned a lot.  Had a ton of fun. Antelope are freaking crazy animals, especially in the rut. I'll try to draw this tag again in the future.
