Olympic Peninsula opening day.

Congrats on a beautiful Roosevelt's elk, that is a big bodied bruiser right there. Everything about that picture is olympic peninsula, from the red antlers, the body size andmass, to your rubber gloves and rain gear lol. That elk was no doubt earned.

Thank you, yeah it surely was a classic, soggy Peninsula hunt. Lots of foot work and a two day pack out. He was a bruiser for sure and definitely felt earned. I’ve spent a lot of time elk hunting, but that’s the first bull I’ve personally shot. Feeling a lot of gratitude.

Alkali Quality Bull taken on 10/29 in training area 16. I've taken several spikes and cows but this is my first branched bull.
This was a difficult hunt due to the nature of the training center. The last 5 days were action packed with elk. I've never seen bachelor groups of bull during hunting season before. I saw several, groups of 8 to 18.
This bull was with 13 other bulls including a 380 class bull. Due to it being the last day of the season I didn't wait out the big bull as the wind was shifting on me. One shot at 225 yards with the .300 RUM.
