I had the same situation this spring turkey hunting. Cat came in and wouldn’t leave,  season was open and quota was still available but I shout it with turkey shot.  I knew what the outcome was going to be.  We called the local game warden and he met us at my brothers house.  There was nothing the game warden could do other than take it.   6’ 9” 154 lb. Hated to see it go to waste.

And if you look some places are at quota this year before the season even opens🤦🏻

I had to look and it looks like they’re all open as of September 1

yes they will all be open, but they have an adjustment just in case the quota is already filled so somebody has a chance to hunt that area.  A move the goal posts to make somebody happy type deal.  I can’t find the article but there were a couple units that had already hit the quota

This article sums it up pretty well, names the units that already hit their quota

and what’s screwed up is the cats killed in April were running off the last years quota.  So the cat I killed was used against us and put in the new seasons quota to further hinder us.  Sorry for the thread hijack but stuff like this ticks me off!

Am I missing something? Why did you call the warden? Because you shot it with the wrong type bullet?

called him because of shot size.  Had to be #1 or larger.  I would have called either way with it being self defense anyway.  Just that I knew I wasn’t going to keep it.

Ya I seen that one unit has closed
These rules are dumb.
I went out on the first and forgot to check myself.

Of course its around Vancouver. Tons of cats getting shot chasing down people's pets would be evidence that populations are too high, in a sane world.
What country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon & pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants.

I'm sure some non-accidental harvests will happen also..

People are losing respect for the system.
If I need a permit and education to buy a firearm than women should need a permit and education  before getting an abortion.

And that maybe the real lasting damage this Game Commission has done.
When the system appears so corrupt, when they will listen to no one but there anti handlers, some folks may just start taking it out on cats and wolves, just because talking doesn’t work.
