Finally got it done
« on: December 08, 2024, 01:41:34 PM »
Anybody ever seen this? It was on the peritoneum so far. Going to skin the deer in a few minutes and see if I find it anywhere else.

Getting into it deeper I’m guessing there was more to the injury. Land owner said it was a car hit but once I skinned the hams looks like maybe a rut injury getting stuck by another buck. A puncture in both hams that have been around for a bit puss coming out both punctures and once the meat was cut bloody puss comes out. Meat was discolored almost a tan color and veins are all inflamed like infection is traveling. Never had and experience like that.

Yea at first we figure the things on the guy were due to getting hit by the car. But upon opening up more and seeing the older infection it’s getting the pass. The land owner said the car hit was either Thursday or Friday even but I’m guessing it was secondary to the injury in the hams. Guessing that’s what caused the failure to be able to avoid the car. He wouldn’t use his left hind at all and his front was just enough to keep him up. His escaping pace was maybe a touch faster than my brisk walk.
