Knotty duck decoys

Short and simple question. Who's running one and what are your thoughts? How much of a pia, is running the string? Thanks in advance.

We run 2 and yes a major PIA  I always hand it to young ones and it’s hilarious to watch them chuck the string when the ducks r locked up. When alone running 2 is a real pain. On the plus side they do seem to work 👍

They work really well. PIA when hunting with dogs. Optimum to have one non-shooter in a group working it.

I have one and it’s a complete royal pain in the a$S that I bring every single time because it works. I don’t even call anymore. The dog gets absolutely tangled every trip and it’s a total pain to keep it upright in the river rocks but I’d take it over a jerk string or an extra dozen decoys every single time.

I use the decoy dancer whip splash, same thing. Major pain in the a** but they work for sure. Decoy dancer makes a floating stand for them that works well in river rock when you can’t get a pole in the ground. Definitely don’t hunt without it.

They definitely work. Great for days when there's no wind  for a wind duck. But can confirm dogs, buddies, and myself have all been tangled up in them enough to break the string on more occasions than I can count. But they draw the birds in well. Really good for field hunting when you dont really need a dog. The jist is if youre an avid duck hunter, its prolly worth the dough.

I have one and agree with what everyone else has said. I still bring it on nearly every trip when I hunt a field.

I don't run a knotty duck but we run 1 or 2 sometimes even 3 decoy dancer whip splashes. I must be doing something completely wrong in the setup though because I have zero issues with the dog getting tangled. It's usually me who forgets and gets caught up. If I'm running it off a pole a like a longer pole and leave it pretty high and I run the floating stand when ever I can.  I don't care for the floating stand setup if there is any current at all where I'm hunting. Pain in the Azz? it's not a remote-controlled mojo for sure, but that's what we get to use and they work!
