seeking recommendation for women's raingear
« on: October 15, 2025, 10:19:06 AM »
As the title says I'm looking for recommendations for raingear for my wife. We were out fishing recently, and she mentioned that her raingear isn't waterproof anymore and most of the rain jackets she has aren't that great. She does not hunt, but does like to go fishing with me, rock hunting at the coast and plenty of other wet weather activities. I'm looking for something that fits well, reasonably lightweight and is actually waterproof, rather than resistant. I don't think she would want bibs, but I'd keep an open mind for the right gear.
Appreciate any advice, thanks

Do you have budget limitations?

If I wanted a "women's" (specific) waterproof jacket for westside activities, I would look real hard at the Sitka Women's Hudson Jacket.  If you just want a shell, I would look at the Sitka Dew Point Jacket.

I've been very happy with my Sitka waterproof equipment over the last 20 years.  I sat in the rain and wind just last weekend for 4 hours and stayed 100% dry where my waterproof clothing was zipped and covering me.

My second options, especially if I was looking for non camo gear would be OR / Outdoor Research gear.  They make great gear.  It's been a few years since I have owned them, but I used to wear a set of their rain pants for my job and they were pretty bombproof.

Thank you, I’m willing to pay (within reason) for good gear. I’d rather pay more upfront knowing the gear will perform well long term. Appreciate the tips
