What do you recommend? Not looking for a super fancy one, just basic plug and play.

Well I got one years ago for Christmas. Sits on the dash and starts up when I start the truck. Otherwise do t do much with it.
If I were shopping for one I’d say get biggest screen you can, with large buttons and easy play back.

Play back probably most important.

I keep a mini iPad in my rig with an adapter to import from SD cards. So if I want to look at dash cam,go pro, camera or trail cam picks I have a larger screen. I also Bluetooth my InReach to it for a better mapping view.

Good luck in your search.

Only 2 defining forces sacrificed themselves for you:
The American Soldier and Jesus Christ. One died for your freedom, the other for your soul.

He trains my hands for war and my fingers for battle.

Just looking for a suction cup/windshield type.
I have the same one in several rigs, worked good for $45….but 1 recently died, so looking for a new brand, last ones not avail anymore.

Costco had some last time I was there, not sure on the quality but worth a look.

I have a garmin in my truck and it’s been a pain in the butt ever since I got it.  Very finicky
