It was great day today , fishing with the Lincoln locals got 2 right away , then for two hours nothing , then it became time to save your pole !! No monsters cought but a bunch of 2-3 pounders , perfect for the smoker , left with my 5 fish and had a blast , I ran into the guy that cought the 12lbr last week , he showed me a picture , thing is huge , water went down ten foot on shore so this fun will not last long

Curious as why the lower water level will spoil the fishing.

Great news, I fished 10 hours a day 3 days in a row last January and didn't get a bite.... :bash: :bash: I was fishing at 7 bays. Tried worms, power bait, eggs, corn marshmallows...I must really suck at this... Hope to head back soon. Any advice?

That’s the million dollar question right there , all I know is once the water goes way down there are no fish at all water level does play a big part in where the fish are the pressures change and they head out to deeper waters , at least that’s the theory of all of us regulars down there also the fish pens in our bay are a big factor also the feed spill , that I believe is why the walleye in there never leave , I’ve cought three fish with huge bite marks on them , I’ve never cought much off shore ever in the summer months , it’s always been October to December that I fish down there and I never take anything but speckleorange power bait , yesterday I watched 12!!!!!! Freeeeeekn poles for 4 hours not a bite ! , the water had dropped off the shore 12ft since last time out, I lost three fish but nobody else had a single bite alllllll day , on another note , I’m done watching guys pull into the bay and fill there boats full of Wally , my brand new mercury trolling motor is on the way and a friend has a aluminum boat I can use , I’ll put in just around the corner from our bay , and Wally will be mine !!!

Is the current running stronger with water dropping?

I’m nowhere near any current , I’m in a very deep bay , I’ve been out there with a finder 112ft. Deep out there , that’s where Wally lurks, and I’m hunting him down soonly
