Furbearer research project, samples requested,
« on: Yesterday at 08:41:11 PM »
Hello recreational trappers,

Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife is looking to support University of Oklahoma student Karissa Hughes in her research on historic and current furbearer genetics and diet in the Columbia River region. To do this, we are looking for individuals that are interested in collecting samples from harvested or removed beaver, mink, and muskrat from across Washington state. See the flyer for more project details.

If you are interested in participating in this OU project, please contact Karissa (Karissa.s.hughes-1@ou.edu) to find out more and to receive your own sampling kit.

Additional questions can be forwarded to the WDFW Furbearer Section at RecreationalTrapping@WA.gov.

Thanks, Bruce

That is a great project, one that would really add to our collective knowledge.  I hope that you find trappers who are willing to support her.
