ANyone here if more wolves are being killed?  I wonder if they will get close to the quota?

I bet they won't hit the quota.  I didn't think they would have this hard of a time.  Not good!   :'(

You guys gotta keep in mind that only two areas are currently open and both are pretty remote areas.  Once the deer and elk seasons get in full swing quite a few more lupus will be hitting the dirt.  They may not come close to the quota, but the numbers will go up, count on it.  Plus a bunch of folks have been waiting to see what the judge ruled...me bring one of them.

I've talk to a few people who have tags and most of them are waiting until elk opens, the only elk/wolf areas open are archery only on elk right now.  more areas open for both the 15Th of September.

I think that it is a lot herder to kill a wolve than it seems.  I know the wolves are in the area I hunt elk every year.  But I've only seen them once and it was from a long distance.  I bet they don't hit the quota either.

I read a newspaper article that said the game dept didn't think that they would even come close to the quotas.  But like someone already said, who knows how many will actually be reported? :dunno:

Where did you get that number? The Idaho webpage says 4.

What are the requirments on reporting?  We are thinking that some of the Idaho boys are holding out. Do they have days/hours to report the kill?  Wolves are on the move, could make them a tough to find.

This is from their regs, they have 24 hours to report the harvest.

Mandatory Report and Check: Any hunter
killing a wolf must report the harvest within 24 hours
by calling the Wolf Reporting Number at 1-877-872-
3190. Consideration will be given to those hunting in
backcountry units. Additionally, any hunter killing a
wolf must, within 5 days of the date of kill, present
the skull and hide to a Fish and Game regional office
or conservation officer for removal and retention of
a premolar tooth and to have the hide tagged with an
official state export tag. No person who does not have
a fur buyer or taxidermist license or appropriate import
documentation may have in their possession, except
during the open season and for five days after the close
of the season, any raw wolf hide without an Idaho or
another state’s official export tag attached.
