So months and months of practice came down to this one little moment! I was always the mean man who makes her go out in the august heat to shoot my bow when my season is 4 months away! Well the past month I didn't have to ask her one time, she went to the range by herself and shot in the back yard almost daily to make this one moment all worth it she took her time anchored, picked a spot and released flawlessly. The arrow hit it's mark and the only thing keeping it from a passthrough was the ground on the other side. At the impact of the arrow this rut tired buck exploded from his bed with a beautiful bright fletch sticking out, he did a thirty yard semi circle and died mid stride. Mrs JBar being on the vertically challenged side had lost sight of him as he circled and didn't see him go down. I gave her a big hug and said your first archery buck is down. She started crying and asking if I was sure, I reassured her the buck was down and told her "there is no crying in bowhunting"! We left him for a few minutes to be sure as I went to get my pack and camera I was able to see him laying there with all four legs up. Yup he's down I thought to myself! I got back to her and I walked her down to her buck. He was bigger than I had originally thought, he had good mass and width. Though like most people say he's not the biggest buck on the hill but I could not be any more proud of my wife and hunting partner! We had to hurry as we did not want to be dragging him out in the dark so I am sorry if some of the pics are a little blurry. I also added the sunrise of that morning I just wish I would have taken one of the moon rising as it was also spectacular! The drive off the hill was slow but gave us time to relive the moment, we stopped at Coopers and got her picture taken. I think she drug everyone out of the store and even a guy that was pumping gas to look at her buck. It was good to see her so excited!
Shut up and Hunt!

What a great story J. Great ending also. Joe probably got a kick out of putting her through her paces on those roads. I could see him getting a kick out of that. I can't wait to talk to you both.
