crappy way to end the season!!
« on: January 01, 2010, 09:30:31 PM »
My brother called me yesterday evening and said that he took aff work a couple hours early to get one last shot at a deer. about an hour before dark he spotted a doe at the back of a cut so he put the stock on her and got within 30 yards and while stocking he had his arrow nocked. At 30 yards he drew back, not paying any attention to his arrow and let go and blew his bow up :bash:. He didn't realize the arrow had come unnocked and was just sitting in the wisker biscuit. The whole left limb shattered from the dry fire :bash: :bash: Not only that but I guess the deer just stood there watching him wondering what the hell he was doing. I feel so bad for him, should he even look in to fixing it or just buy a new one?

Thats a tough way to end the season.  It could have been alot more crappier if he blew up his bow causing a bad shot on the deer.  Fixing the bow depends on what brand the bow is and how old it is.

i guess its better than happening at the beginning of the season

i think if he sends it to martin they might replace limbs free, i dont know, but i know a guy who had his limbs blow up on a martin 2 weeks before season a couple years ago he sent it to them and had it back within 1 1/2 weeks and had it retuned and sighted in by the opener, his wasnt caused by a dry fire but they did replace the limbs free, they may do the same for your bro

Give Martin a call. There customer service is excellent. I had a recurve break on me, called them said to send it back. Got a new recurve back in less than a month free of charge.

True that. I hope he can get it fixed, but at least it's a valid excuse to check out the newest line of bows on the market!
