BAMF BOATS
« on: June 13, 2010, 05:48:33 PM »
I'm seriously looking into buying the 25 ft. Alaskan for salmon and bottom fishing off of West Port and Neah Bay. They seem to be well built and designed for serious fishing in ocean waters.

Just thought I would check in here first to see if anyone has any other knowledge and input on them  Thanks

Great boats, #1 selling boat in AK, with that said, look at the new Duckworths, wow, they are really nice also.

I was thinking of the wrong boat, I looked at the pics. Looks nice, heavy. You ever look into the Alaskan Series Hewes?

The Hewes are aluminum aren't they?  I don't really care for aluminum for ocean waters.

They are an all welded aluminum, I don't like all the maintenance and weight of a fiberglass. With that said that boat looks really sweet and I would be more than willing to help run it  :chuckle: I know Neah Bay and I'm good with a boat.  ;)

They look pretty nice to me. Sounds like you're doing your homework, and I think it's great you're looking outside the box of the boats we're so used to seeing. Not to take anything away from any other boat, but I like to see something different. I know a few guys who swear by c-dory's too. Like anything else, find the boat that fits you.

That hull design looks a lot like an Osprey.

They haven't been around long, it is an Osprey hull but is built up and modified even stronger.. the more I look into to these boats the more I believe they can't be beat. A dream fishing boat I have always imagined a real fishing boat should be,  may have to go get a loan from the bank tho. :P
