New to shed hunting
« on: March 20, 2011, 07:40:58 PM »
I know there are quite a few topics on here about it but I was thinking of going out and hiking around next weekend if the weather isnt too bad and looking for sheds. I have found sheds before but just by chance. does it work the same way when you hunt for them? just wonder around and hope you see one? I live on the west side and will be looking in the skookumchuck unit. Does anybody have any good tips about where to look? Im new to this but just tired of not being in the outdoors the past few weeks and would like to go do something and thought shed hunting would be fun. Any tips you have would be appreciated and if you have pics of any skookumchuck sheds id like to see them. thank you :)

And has anyone ever went into the margaret unit or the mudflow to look for elk sheds? is it legal to look in the mudflow? I hunted it this fall on a special permit hunt and saw areas that would be great to look. has anyone ever done it?

Are you looking for elk or deer sheds or both?

good luck with that.  the wetside is tough and the deer are few and far inbetween.
