10-.22 Project done
« on: April 08, 2011, 07:55:23 PM »
This was not a long hard project but it was fun. I purcased a Fajen® Legacy Series Special Edition Thumbhole Stock from BASS-Pro for $129.00 and placed my Ruger 10-.22T in it. Then I took it back out and went to work on it. The stock is in reality a very nice composite stock, however it had some sharp lines that I didn't feel comfortable with. I filed and sanded them down to a much smoothercontour. I then drilled the forestock for a short Picatinny rail for a bipod. I then applied a coat of paint to cover the sanded areas and you will now see the finished product.

The Fajen stock by itself

I forgot to add that I am still looking for a way to pad the cheek rest but haven't solved that yet. I don't want it to look tacky so it might take some professional help from my upholstery buddy.

Now you just have to replace that barrel with a suppressed one and your set.   :chuckle:

What a nice looking gun there!  Well done!  Often times the little adjustments like the sanding you did to take out some sharp angles turn a gun from good to great.
