Day one:  9 bucks and 20 does.   Only two deer worth looking at.  One was a nice 3x4 and one was an older aged class buck, that almost took an arrow as he walked by me.   I think he was the mystery buck from our scouting trip that looked like he had a huge frame but didn't see any forks.  This guy was heavy and probably regressing a bit.  He had crabs top and bottom.   Took some restraint.......
can you see this guy?   a nice 3 point out of velvet
I saw hime both day one and day two....

Yay... boneaddict coming to MT for Hornseeker Moose hunt... hope I supply him with enough entertainment to make it worthwhile!! With the big canon, he should return with a few pics... Moose, lopes, whiteys, mulies... bears? Wolves? elk??

I'm almost there.   couple bucks to go through....
Here was one that blew me away.   Really glad he wasn't a shooter.  A nice two point that was in an insane spot.  He sat there until the sun hit him then he pulled back into the shadows.

So, I sat down and had lunch under the biggest 3 foot tree I could find. :)   Man the sun sucked.  It was flat hot.   I then started working my way around the ridge.  I kept finding empty beds.....where the heck were the deer.   It was insanely steep and nasty.

ya ya I know....


I was going along as high as I could as all the deer were hiding on the top end of their single trees, or on that side to stay in the shade.  I was working the ridge when I spotted this guy standing in the shade next to the rocks.  He heard her camera come on, and then meandered off.

I held to the spot as I just had a feeling there were more deer nearby.  I leaned out over a rock outcropping to look around some whitepines and there he was.  The buck I wanted.   There was no way I could get the spotting scope on him.  He was about 150 yards or so.   I really wanted to gander at him.   I surveyed the situation to see how I was going to get the drop on him and I took this pic.
