I had a feeling it was me . It was like DIY electrical work and everything went dark and the wife said " what did you do"

My guess is the picture was too large.  I could get pages 1-4 of that thread to open just fine but not page 5. Yours was the last post so I assumed that was the problem. This has happened one other time and Bearpaw fixed it.

What I ended up having to do was go to your profile, click on show posts, only the text shows up then no pictures, so I then clicked remove post just the one you had posted on that thread. Then the thread worked again. I went to recycle and couldn’t open up the recycle thread because the picture was then messing up that thread. I went back to your profile, clicked on show posts and deleted the post again that was then in recycle. That completely deleted it from the forum. All good again.

If you take a screen shot of that moose paddle you should be able to post that no problem.

Oh no worries. Like I say it’s happened before and will probably happen again. I knew we fixed it before and just couldn’t remember how.

I posted that breakdown of the process for the other mods to see so they can all be aware of the fix.

Page 5 of the 2024 shed hunting thread just comes up white for me  :dunno:
:yeah:
:yeah:  shed thread still out of comission
This one is above my pay grade. I’m thinking the last post has too large of an image attached. Just not sure how to get there to delete that post.

@bearpaw
I think Rainier may be correct, I'll try to get our tech guy to fix it, I couldn't fix it either.

Just read your other post, I tried to fix it yesterday by splitting the topic but that didn't work, that was good thinking for a fix!  :tup:

Splitting the topic was my first thought also and when I couldn’t get to the page that was faulty I took the other path and that worked.

I forgot to mention that we are prepping for some big changes and Liroy warned at times the forum will be slow. We are updating software from 2.0.19 to 2.1.

I think this is going to be the most significant change that we've had on the forum since I've owned it, and will likely take a while.

We are going to lose a few mods but going to gain more than we lose, a lot more is built into the new software. Currently I see the biggest stumbling block being the photo gallery, the current gallery is not supported with the new software so we have to find another option. Another concern, we'll lose Simple Portal, but a fork called EZ Portal works with 2.1, I'm just not sure yet if the "Recent Topics" block will look/work exactly the same. Another issue, our current theme (the colors and overall look of the forum) is not supported with the new software, but I'm going to have someone customize a theme for 2.1 to keep the general look of the forum the same.

Liroy also thinks we'll need a server update to handle the new software, so this is really going to be a rather lengthy and costly process. During this process I'm going to have numerous additional features added that we've discussed before, and some features we've never discussed, the end result will be many new features and functionality.

Gotcha.  Pages are taking 4-7 seconds to be created today and then really quick sometimes.

Advertising and occasional donations have mostly covered costs in the past. I don't know what the overall cost is going to be yet, the most significant cost will most likely be the new server, for about 12 years we have been buying the servers and paying monthly rental (about $120) for a place to host the server, it's a big hit on the initial purchase (I think it was about $3k to $4k the last time) but it's less costly over time than monthly rental of a non-owned server. Our annual tech maintenance is about $800 but there's additional charges for upgrades, I don't yet know what that will be this time. The additional software features I've ordered cost a little under $400 so far.
