i just bought a buck gardner spitfire duck call and i was wondering if anyone has any experience with this call the
call is really raspy on the low end and you can get loud with it i have been calling on and off for a year and a half i

i bought one last year and don't particularly care for it.  doesn't seem to have much high end at all.  the only nice thing is that it lives up to its name - it never sticks.

call me crazy, but i like the sound from my dr-85 a lot better.

you're not crazy Tuna... dr-85 in my opinion is the best call you can get for such a low price ...it won't win the duck calling competitions but it has put a lot of ducks on the dinner table thats for sure .... I would also like to try the Buck Gardner double nasty , has anyone ever used that one...I heard it was pretty good anyway but never have tried one yet....

I have a few DR-85 floating around.  Better than a Faulks for the price.  It's not my call of choice, but I see guys with them.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!

I have a double nasty and I enjoy it and yes it never sticks.  Love the low end raspy sound.  Like black plague said not great high end but puts ducks down on the ground or water.

i bought mine because it was only 10 bucks, i had heard good things but i was a bit skeptical, being that it looks like one of those crack pipes that seedy mini marts sell.

i was pretty surprised by the sound it makes, and wouldn't hesitate to pay full price for one.  i'd like to try their canada goose call if i can find one.

Haydels DR-85 or the RL-99 Red Leg. The RL-99 is basically a DR-85 with more high end range. I am on my third RL-99 best call I have found for under $30.00 :rockin:

I bought a RNT daisy cutter last yr. I started using it and don't like it at all. The call costed $135 from Cabelas. I like the old Yentzen calls, just my :twocents:

i seen them at wholesale sports in lacey for around $20 or so on sale.  almost bought one but decided to try the DR-85 first.

i can't imagine spending $130 on a duck call, much less one that i haven't heard the sound of!  maybe if i was into that competition stuff, but i just like to get them to put their feet down and try to land in my dekes, and the cheaper ones seem to do a decent job of that for me! :chuckle:

probably the best mallard quacker I have owned is a call from Tim Grounds, his Sweet meat is a single reed and if you bite down on it with your upper lip it will produce a great raspy sound. I love that call. it was one that went down with the lanyard.  It's a 70.00 call or under but I think it's worth it. i love the sound and bet if anyone has 70.00 bucks to spare try getting one.

The sure shot 650 is by far the most realistic, easy to blow and stick free call I have ever heard or blown! I have a custom tru-tone and a couple of buck gardeners. And as long as I have the 650 I will never use another call. It works in open grass, fields. It works in close in timber and its range is loud enough for far off birds on windy days and is good all the way down to sweet talking them when they're just out of range! Check em out at sureshotgamecalls.com it's the model 650. It's black and it's gotten me 100s and 100sof birds! Good luck to all!
