Hunt Hard!
Headed out to try and get one
«

Well, I dug my boat out from deep down in the field. I've bought my new ID hunting license. I'll pick up a 2012 wolf tag on the way out of town. But, the biggest story is that I am going WOLF HUNTING! I'll launch the boat at Dworshak Dam and see where I end up from there. I've talked to several relatives who live at different places along the lake, and they all say there are wolves there near their houses, so I am hoping to cut a fresh tack and do some calling. WISH ME LUCK!

Good luck Todd. I'm sure there are a lot of jealous guys and gals here in WA. Maybe someday soon here in WA....

Well, we tried hard but no luck. We found lots of deer and elk pushed down by the snow, but we never cut a wolf track. I was really wanting to do some calling once I found an area with lots of sign. I'll head back out Super Bowl weekend for a 3 or 4 day weekend and see what I can drum up in a different area on the lake. We did have a good time even though we got the truck stuck in the snow with V-bar cleated chains on all four tires. I think the road should be much easier to get the boat up and down now that I've plowed a path down to the boat ramp and back up again.

Here's a couple of pictures from once we got down to where the snow level was reasonable.
