Few Blacktail, Mulies, & Elk (pic added 6-13)
« on: February 13, 2012, 04:42:56 PM »
Went out of town to try a new area.  Saturday was slow, I walked my butt off and found one very old shed and one white, and my buddy found nothing.  Tried something different Sunday by moving to a higher elevation, and my buddy found a couple fresh browns, so we packed up and drove higher, about 3pm we did one last go at it and hit a home run.  My buddy ended up with 8 total, and me 3, he kicked my butt.  Most being found in the last few hours before dark, then we had to pack her up and head home.  Now that we Know where to find them, next weekend will be a little more exciting.  Mine are the 3 on the left in the tailgate pic.

When you see the third, thin the herd.
Right now I'm somewhere picking up sheds.

Haha yeah I guess I should have took notes.  That last hour of light and with you every 15 minutes...  I found another, hey I found another one, really got me to kick it in overdrive, I was all over that hillside running out of light and hope.   :chuckle:

Yeah they are 100% for sure benchlegs, but we are seeing them also and no doubt blacktail.  Tried to go again this last weekend but got over there, set up camp, and woke up to 5 or so inches of new snow, so we just packed up and came home.  Yeah Bobcat I may go scout it out this year for hunting, but I think they will move up after the melt.
