My WA Cow Moose Euro Mount is Done! Yes, I said Cow Moose.
« on: March 06, 2012, 07:57:38 AM »
Thought I would share. I shot this Monster Cow in the Hangman B Unit. I was getting ready to throw the head away and my hunting partner said "you should get a Euro mount of that!" I said, that would be dumb, it is a cow! And then he said well you may never get another chance to shoot a WA Moose again in your life. I thought about it and said , "what the hell!". I am very glad I did it. looks kind of cool in  my office. The bullet casings at the bottom were the ones I used from my late fathers rifle.

Thought I would share. It was done by Mike Sumpter in Spokane at SouthHill Taxidermy.

I think it's cool as hell. Congrats...now you've got something to look at and remember your hunt.

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

Congrats!  Did it take three rounds to drop, or are those bullets for display only?

Well If I am being honest, I am a bowhunter of 25 years and have not shot this rifle since before then other than sighting in for this hunt. I brought my bow as well and it was my primary weapon. But I did not get the opportunity I wanted with the bow so when I saw this huge cow out at 120 yards looking at me I grabbed the gun from my partner and knelt down. I missed with the first two rounds and dumped her with the 3rd. She was walking. My nerves had a bit to play with it, I am guessing.... :chuckle:
