We drew it last year and didn't get the maps until about a week after the permit. The area's limited but they can be found. We didn't spend a lot of time down there so we ate tag soup but that's OK as that's why they call it hunting. What seemed a little odd to me is that most of the sign that we ran into was not in the areas we could actually hunt. I saw more turkey, deer, and elk but the bear eluded us. I just wish they would open up Capitol Forest again as we have a ton of bear up there.

Grousetracker,
You're right. I've got the Capitol Forest on the brain as that's what they did; sent out a map after the permit was sent. There's a website for the Lincoln tag. Thanx for setting me straight!

That's what I told them some of us would actually like to kill bears not just put in for a permit just cause.

I have talked to weyerhauser and wdfw and niether of them will give me a staight answer.julie farmer who is in charge of bear damage for weyerhauser has told me whatever the access hotline says for access is what will be open.when i asked the game dept about that they said i have got farther with weyerhauser than they have.i went scouting down there sunday and didnt see any bear sign.they have down alot of thinning down there and just made it so you cant even walk through the woods.im not to excited about this hunt at all.
