Namibia Kudu

My Kudu from 2004 trip.  Maybe someday I can go back, the taxidermist in Cape Town sent me someone else's trophy.

:o How in the world did the taxidermist manage to send you the wrong mount?  I'd have been beyond pissed!  Why didn't you have the Cape and Horns sent to your taxidermist in the USA?

Awesome trophy and cool picture.  I would love to do that sometime.  On the other hand that SUCKS about your mount.  And there isn't a damn thing you can do about it I suppose, unless it was part of your outfitters business or recommendation.  If so, I would let him have it and let us all know who in the heck it was so we never even think about using them.

The capes and horns went through three outfits in the two years I waited.  The professional hunter, the warehouse were they were dipped and tanned, and the taxidermist.  I think my stuff may have gotten mixed up with another party from Alaska, but  they claim their trophys are mixed too.  I sent all sorts of pictures to the Alaska party for them to compare, but they sent no pictures of the trophys they received from Africa.  I just gave up.  Dealing with people around the world gets tiring.  Someday I might sell the Kudu, Gemsbok and Springbok I received on E-bay.  Hunting in Africa was great and my hosts great also.  The U.S. dollar compared to the South African rand was about 1us to 6rand.  So we tried to save some money.  Old story.
Oh, the taxidermy was Taxidermy Kaap in Cape Town.

Ouch!!  That's too bad.  Were still waiting on my wife's heads to come back.....check out the thread "Hunting Namibia" below.  I think I put a picture of her Kudu up.  I think she would be pretty devestated if something were to happen to her heads.

Thats a beautiful Kudu in your pic, but it does suck you didn't end up with YOURS for the wall.  Even though my buddy had his shipped to the US for mounting, the warehouse that did the dipping and crating lost both of the capes for his impala. :'(  Not a dang thing he could do about it either.  Sounds to me like it can be a not to rare occurence with Africa.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.
You are never to old to learn something stupid.
