Montana Rut: Any success on Rattling in mule deer

I have always heard about this and was curious to know if anyone has ever done this and or been successful in rattling in mule deer.  Specially in Montana for the rut.

We have tried it during the late archery here in washington and it it pretty tough. Found that the grunt worked ok. The aggressive rattling did not work.

I prefer to spot and stalk mulies. Especially during the rut.
