Pike in Idaho
« on: August 07, 2012, 12:22:23 AM »
Anyone fish pike in Idaho?  I have fished the Pend Oreille in Wa but since they started netting the fishing kind of sucks.  I know there are lots of places to find them in Idaho but has anyone else fished them there?  Any one place better than another?  I hear the size of fish in CDA is huge right now and have talked to people in the past that fished the chain lakes.  Just trying to figure out if it's worth the 100 for the yearly license or not.

I'll let you know next week.  I'm headed for CDA to do some fishing and scouting.

Cda, Chain lakes, Hayden, Fernan and twin all have pike. Hauser has monster Muskies. Early spring fish with smelt and a bobber. Late spring in to summer I usually use spinner baits.

I've always done pretty good at Mission Sloughs, just east of Cataldo.

I fished CDA and the Chain Lakes last year. They both produced pike. I had the best action with a Rapala floater  Another highlight was seeing 4 moose, and a herd of elk at the Chain Lakes  :IBCOOL:

Is that those ponds surrounding the freeway? I didn't think anyone fished there?!

+2 on Hayden lake, usually crowded, but there are big pike in there.
