Lose an anchor?
«
on:
August 04, 2012, 03:00:06 PM »
I was diving today, and I found an anchor that was lost very recently. Zero corrosion, it is in perfect shape, and I would very much like to return to its owner who clearly had to cut it away from their boat.
If the owner is on this board, tell me where the anchor was lost and what kind of anchor it was, and I will deliver it to your doorstep!
It would be cool if i just found a new anchor, but even more I would like to return this to the owner who paid for it. If you are on this board, or if you know someone who lost an anchor in the recent past, please contact me so I can return your property!
Thanks for reading.

Doubt you were diving in the Columbia, but I had to cut a river anchor loose downstream of Drano on the WA side this spring... wasn't too happy about it either, but better than swamping the boat trying to break it free. Don't know what I got hung up in, but man was it solid!

You could tie off just before the boat to a buoy with your info on it. That way when it gets free if someone found it they may give you a call. Cutting anchor is crappy, but it's better than swimming!

I doub't it was the anchor I had to cut away, but I did have to cut away a Danforth anchor in the puget sound next to katie downs. storm put me on the rocks when i went through some rope and eleminated my motor. When I was getting pulled off the rocks by vesel assist the anchor caught on the rocks and it had to be cut away.

Cause some of us (me) never think about stuff like that. Of course I can dive for my own stuff
Although I am still looking for two of my wifes shrimp pots. They were set in a string of four right between mine, so I am thinking someone wanted some free pots and pulled them rather than the current grabbing them. Have where they used to be still marked on GPS.

Cut one off in the Columbia gorge by cape horn (aka the wall) a couple months ago.
Hope you found mine.

Sorry, no one so far has been the one I found. This was in Puget Sound, the Columbia is a long way from home for me!

I figure when I get back to Tacoma I will go diving on a calm day and see if my anchor is still there. More just for the heck of it then anything else.
