Weyerco gates
« on: September 04, 2012, 08:32:27 AM »
I have spent many hours hiking and biking in behind a locked gate that stays locked. In fact, there has not been much logging activity behind this gate in a long time. Well, last evening as I am coming out, i watch these two rigs pull up to the gate, UNLOCK the gate, drive through, re lock the gate and tear off like a bunch of punk kids. These guys were old enough to know better. Well they had two truck loads of gear and they were clearly going hunting...for elk. I know where the elk are and I spent all my time following the rules. How is it possible these guys come in and let themseves in like its THEIR land?!?!? :bash: I kinda feel like all my time and effort was for nothing. Pretty pissed off right now.

I don't know how accurate the information is, but I have heard Weyco has or does give employees keys for access to hunt.  Again, I don't know if that is fact or rumor, but that is one way to explain that happening.

As frustrating as it is, if that is really the case, there is nothing that can be done about it, if Weyco is giving some people keys, bottom line is it is their property and their choice.

I suppose one course of action would be to record the license plate numbers and gate/road info and report it to Weyco security incase they are not authorized to have a key or drive behind the gates.
It is better to be consistently incorrect than inconsistently correct...

I have been telling myself this is the case. I literally lost some sleep over this last night. I know they will tag out on some elk. This was my sure thing. Hopefully still is. Gonna wait a few days and bike in. Might wait til the last couple days of early season and give it a shot.

They can't kill them all. I'm sure you will be fine.

I believe they will also give keys out sometimes to disabled hunters.
