HOG buck!  Be interesting to see if it is high fence?  Lots of fences and deer growing in Sonora right now - also, an "early" mule deer hunt in Sonora is mid-late December.  The majority of hunting takes place in January down there, during the rut.
I remember ready that somewhere, wonder why that is? I love sonoran bucks, especially the super wide ones!

Wow, awesome buck!  I usually refer to desert muleys as sombrero bucks, because they are big, wide and thin.  But that one has the mass to go with it!

My understanding is that the rut in the desert is in late December/January because then the fawns drop during the summer after the monsoons have started, the desert greens up and there is water/food available.  They also don't need to worry about snow and winterkill like our deer up here.  If our rut was later, the fawns would only have a couple months to grow before the winter kicks in.

Gosh dang how the heck did that buck hold that rack up without a headache. :yike:
Nice one hope to afford a trip like that some time.
"When my bow falls, so shall the world. When me heart ceases to pump blood to my body, it will all come crashing down. As a hunter, we are bound by duty, nay, bound by our very soul to this world. When a hunter dies we feel it, we sense it, and the world trembles with sorrow. When I die, so shall the world, from the shock of loosing such a great part of ones soul." Ezekiel, Okeanos Hunter

Lol. I would say that the trophy fee was much higher than that. IDK.

What a buck!!!
