Looking for a start
« on: December 18, 2012, 10:13:46 PM »
A friend and I are looking to try our luck at yote hunting.  We are on the west side, but would like to travel to the east side (around Yakima or a bit further).  Any recommendations on where to start?  We are both very respectful of land owners and other hunters and their spots. Any advice is helpful.

Well, I do have them in my back yard, but the neighbors would complain about the loud boom.

Get some subsonic 22 rimfire cartridges, or a 25 cal. airgun with a shrouded barrel.  Make sure the airgun has a shrouded barrel.  An airgun with an unshrouded barrel is louder than a 22 LR rifle.  Go for head shots with either one.
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

Sorry but, we just ran out of coyotes on the east side.................. better just stay over there and hunt.
"One does not hunt in order to kill; on the contrary, one kills in order to have hunted..If one were to present the sportsman with the death of the animal as a gift he would refuse it. What he is after is having to win it, to conquer the surly brute through his own effort and skill with all the extras that this carries with it: the immersion in the countryside, the healthfulness of the exercise, the distraction from his job."
