nothing is too big for a coyote.  if all you have is a 50bmg or a rocket launcher, go for it.

I've been searching for that answer myself. I bought a rabbit in distress, bobcat call and a mac daddy howler. I'm also from aberdeen. I'll let you know if I have any success. I imagine since they will work fine since they don't really know what's making that noise and want to find out. Either way it sounds like an easy meal.

you could also look into a home made e-caller. I literally put one together tonight for less than 50 bucks. if you got an MP3 player or an iPod iPhone anything that plays mp3s will work. Download the calls online put them on the player. Get an audio amp from radio shack for $15 and a pa horn which I got mine at Electronic Resourcing Inc in Tumwater (360-943-1071) they will ship it too you. you can get the cable with 3.5mm ends to go into your mp3 player to the audio amp from there as well. I got a 100' cable so i can change the sounds and volume but still have the caller 100' away.

Also if you search e-caller on here you will come up with some good stuff as well.

I have more luck using a diaphram call ..I have tried many electro calls but never had the success as I do with a diaphram ...takes practice but very affective ..I have not broke down and bought a foxpro yet but I may just do that this year ...mainly to see how it works on Bobcats !

Nice! I live in central park. I heard them almost every night by my house in the summer time. Obviously can't shoot where I live or I would.
I like the mp3 idea. I might have to do that.

Tell ya what.

Some folks think I am a purty fair caller and give me stuff to hand out to get folks going. I happen to have a couple of Ricks ( Bearmanric) calls. He is, by the way, a damn good caller and a great guy.
I have a Yellerdog call #YDD3, one that Rick sells, I will give you. It is capable of making any sound you'll ever need.
I am in Yelm but travel far and wide in pursuit, How can we hook up?
This is a standard call, NOT one of Ricks customs.

30/06 is fine for coyotes.
If you are worried about OVER penetration, or huge exit holes, if you wanted to save pelts...
you can look into a round like the old acceleraters from remington.

nah... I used to use the hell out of them before I got my .223.
I reloaded my own with varmint grenade .223 bullets.
Just remember that they are a little less accurate because they are a .22 coming out of a  .30.
but at 200 yards I could still get 3 or 4 inch groups.
They are cool because they explode in side the coyote. often times not even penetrating far enough to exit only leaving a tiny entrance hole. But when you hit em in the head... well, thats a different story. lol....   BAM!
