a hunting contest permit is needed from the wdfw.
Wild Turkey, Walleyes, Whitetails and Wapiti..These are a few of my favorite things!!

I would have a non-profit sponsor the event and get the permit.  or have sponsors donate all of the prizes and forgo the entry fees, etc.  A permit maybe required still according to new regs.  There are lots of yotes in eastern wa.  If you pick moses lake most of the public land are wildlife areas which might not be the best place to have a contest.  I would say keep it on DNR or private. my two cents

I'm not real sure why it has to be a contest  :dunno:

Why not just some guys and, gals, if any, getting together to call some coyotes, sit around tell stories and enjoy the company at the end of the day. A good hunt is more fun and no permit is needed.

We could just call it a Ronndevoooo  :yike:

Id be up for west or east side as well but as said before it might be difficult locating an area over here.

The weekend befor or after the Superbowl would work as long as it doesn't coincide with the Warden Coyote Round-up.

The state park at the Potholes Res. stays open all year as does the Mardon Motel and there are plenty of free campsites (no facilities) close to the area.   There is plenty of area to hunt, Goyd Seep, Desert Wildlife, Quincy Lakes,  Crab Creek and any number of wildlife areas.

After the first shot the rest are just noise.

Definately not a Contest, and definately do NOT coincide with the Warden Coyote hunt! Good points, fellers!

The Superbowl is Feb 1st, the Warden Roundup is in March , anyone have a firm date for it?  Anyone from the Warden, Othello, Moses Lake area that could find out?  If we want to do this lets get the ball rolling.

I suggest just a meet and greet Saterday afternoon and evening, maybe someone could do a skinning demo, a fleshing demo a streching demo, and a couple of calling demmos.

We're usually hunting coyotes every weekend once rifle deer is over. Count us in.
PS for the guys that don't save the hides there's plenty of us who do. So we'll be happy to take them off your hands. Unless you blow them all to H***. :chuckle:
