quick question
« on: February 27, 2013, 03:47:46 PM »
I have a 84 Ford Ranger 4 cylinder 2.3lt and i was wondering if u could use a battery out of a Ford F150 instead of a battery for the ranger. I am going to be putting kc lights on my roll bar and want more juice to run them i have a cb to. I guess my question is will it hurt anything to run a bigger battery in a smaller truck?

i am far from a mechanic, but i doubt it would mess with anything, hell its mainly just to get your rig runnin isnt it then the altinator takes over, unless your sittn the with the accesories on then i would think more battery the better, but i would talk to a battery place first
my grandpa always said "if it aint broke dont fix it"

you'll be fine, but it wont help you run lights unless the rig isnt running, the alternator handles that

You will put a higher demand on your alternator. You would be better off putting in an aftermarket high output alternator instead of replacing the battery. A bigger battery will extend the amount of time the lights can run after shutting the engine off.
Summit has alternators with high output relatively cheap.
Hoyt Carbon Element,Black Gold Rush, Tight Spot, Gold Tip and Muzzy....these are a few of MY favorite things
