Outfitter
« on: March 18, 2013, 02:38:08 PM »
Does anyone know of a outfitter that would be willing to just drop a single hunter with three packs off at 'X' on the map?  Basically my buddy's artificial ankles are nearing their end; which means this could be potentially his last chance in life doing such hunt.  He's good for 3 miles or so gear ladden, so I'm thinking if an outfitter or somebody with horses could drag his ass the 7+ miles in and drop him off where myself and brother-in-law will meet up and head up into the boonies he could manage it.  I'm only looking for a pony ride there and back, no drop camps or guide service etc.

I know...we're as weak as the weakest link, but if I were in his 'ankles' I'd hope my friends would do the same.

I don't think you need an outfitter, so to speak, just to drop your buddy off in this type of situation.

Depending on where it is you want to go, and the drive distance for me to get there, I would not be opposed to helping you and him out.
3 horses and a 3 horse trailer......piece of cake.  :)

There's a couple other of us horsey people here in the county that might chime in too.

I'm looking at the east side of the Pasayten.  Exactly...all I'm looking for is a pony ride there and back (say after 4-5 days).

Contact Steve Darwood of Cascade Wilderness Outfitters. He does drop camps in the east side of the Pasayten. Maybe he could haul your friend in with another group of people.

Sounds like good people right there. Love seeing stuff like this.
