With all the LAWS and new to front loaders. Is this model legal in WA ?
just got a knight disc in .50 with the western legal kit on it.
I too am new to the ML world. I've been lurking in the shadows here, reading and learning. About a month ago I found a smokin' deal on a Bighorn with Thumbhole stock, so now its in the safe. It "was" a 209 gun, swapped the Breech Plug and nipple and now its a Western Edition. Decided to try the sight set up Sabotloader has talked about, hooded streamline ramp w/ firesight and Williams peep. One question to you guys, are the dovetails on the ramp and Firesight a real tight fit?
Mine were super tight and required a bit of adjustment. I got all the part #'s from Sabotloaders posts, so I think that it all should be ok, just got it on the rifle today, now its time to burn some powder~!
They are tight, but you can use a small 'c' clamp to get them started and a bruss punch to move it to the final spot. You can also get a small 3 sided file and work the dovetail in the ramp just a bit at a time to make the installation a bit easier, but you don not want it to easy... QuoteI did almost precisely that, with the exception of the C clamp, it's on and ready for sighting! Now I just gotta find somewhere with #11 mag caps in stock On another note, I've read on here where you talk about a 6 o'clock hold, is that as easy to sight in for as I'm thinking...hold at 6 o'clock of where I'd want my POI to be?

I have always used a 6 o'clock hold even with scopes, but especially wtih open sights and a front blade... I just feel that it allows me to the spot that I an shooting at. I also use a 6" PBR - so at a 100 yards I know I am going to be approximately 3" with a ML bullet. And somewhere around 175 yards I will be 3" down. Just kinda a rough configuration because it really depends on the bullet and the powder load...These are examples of 6 o'clock holds..
I've had the Bighorn out a couple times now. So far I'm managing 3" groups at 100 yards, which I'm totally happy with, groups have been tightening up, so we'll see where this shooter can get to, the rifle certainly does its job flawlessly! I have been most impressed with the crispness of the trigger...definitely a Knight fan now!
