Has anyone hunted bear in the Seabeck/Dewato area?

well got my answer last night. too many people using that place for target practicing and people not learning how to read. How come when a company is nice enough to let us use their property people don't use it as authorized? Signs stating no motorized vehicles and you ride in with dirt bikes... and then no target shooting and people leave all their plastic targets and trash all over.  no wonder people are starting to make their land off limits to all. So remember to clean up after yourselves. is it that hard to do what is asked by the owners of the property...  Lets leave peoples property as clean as we find it pack out your crap and do what they ask. it's that easy.  and before people ask... Yes when I target shoot in authorized areas I pack out my brass and targets.

That's the problem. For the most part, the only people truly care about following the rules of private timber land is the hunters that use it.
The every day dirt bike rider and target shooter don't give 2 sh!ts about what those little signs say at gates.

It's always a shame to see how much trash/debris is at the gates/trailheads. I hunt Tahuya and Satsop and see a lot of that. Sure do see a lot of bear sign. I'd be interested in tagging along if you want a backup in the Seabeck area, there is a lot of potentially good spots out there.

I wonder how the Bald Point area off the old Elfendhal Pass Rd would be for hunting? I haven't been in there in years, used to mt bike that area. It leads to some nice spots.

okay, i live out here, its great hunting land yes. Bears are out here, all over green mountain, and all over the timberland. There is also a ton of brush pickers, hikers, mushroom pickers, other hunters(mostly deer season), all outdoor sports. sometimes you get away from people. There are houses, so watch out.  Now there was a 500 LB bear shot out here about 5 years ago now, they do exsis but dealing with people is more of the issue.

Thanks, I may try to get out that way and explore. Always looking for new spots. We are lucky to be so close to some good hunting, compared to other parts of the Puget Sound area.

I've seen tons of bear sign and had a nice buck jump out when walking back to my truck. trying to find fresh sign found field with tons of huckleberries. and quail. now just need bear. hunting with my son would love to be able for him to put on in his crosshairs.
