Sitka Timberline Pants Noisy
« on: September 06, 2013, 04:07:05 PM »
I've been using Columbia's wool pants for a while but this year I ponied up and bought some Sitka Timberlines. I got them in the mail the other day and noticed they are actually quite loud, especially the waterproof areas. Did I get swindled? How are these marketed to bow-hunters if they're so loud? My old wool pants might have been bulky but they cost 3x less and don't make a sound when stalking.

Probably just saved me a buttload of money as I was going to put the drop on them.

Go with the mountain pants. They don't have the waterproof parts but they're great pants and they're quiet.

With that said, I've seen lots of bowhunters happily wearing the Timberline pants.

Thanks for the response, guess I won't know until I get it out in the woods.  Wool has worked great in the past and I can definitely see why most older hunters use/recommend it. On the other hand I wouldn't say the guys I know have an incredibly open mind about it either.

Boneaddict: Took like 2 weeks but if you check certain places online daily, you can eventually find all Sitka stuff at a discounted price. I found these pants at Sportsmen's Warehouse when they had $50 off orders over $250 and just added a hat. eBay has also worked well.
