Confirmed bear!
« on: October 10, 2013, 03:36:34 PM »
I just need him to come in at light!  He tore up my trash can last night.  Doesn't look like a cub and other pics didn't have cubs so he is a shooter in my book.

I'm trying!  My son found a big pile of trash in the woods on his way to the bus stop.  I think he is planning on coming back but didnt last night.  He might have just dragged it to the woods to eat it in safety.  Either way I need to kill him my son is affraid to walk to the bus stop now.

I wish I had a bear problem at my house... of course I should be careful what I wish for, I'll end up coming home with a tore up house.

Can you tell how big he or she is by the poo h20?  The last pile was seriously about the total size of a basket ball.  Had lots of hair and apples in it.

couple things........nice poo............I wonder if you could now hunt the trash? You didn't put it there.........the bear did. I would not think it is baiting......the bear took the trash out there..........not you.

Either way....I'd shoot it. Not sure about the meat if he is a trash bear but sounds like he needs to go for sure.

I thought the same thing h2o.  The trash is along the road so not hunting it.  The cam is at 1 of two aplles trees that still have apples.  I also thought I could shoot him at night if I find him eatting my chickens but then I think I would have to turn him over.  He is causing damage to my property, he destroyed my trash can and is a threat to the kids.

My plan is to try and get him in legal hours by our fruit tree.  The way I understand it is you can hunt exsisting fruit trees and it is not baiting.  If I am wrong someone correct me please.

I shot a trash eating bear 4 years ago, he tasted fine. I was worried he'd taste like baby diapers and coffee grounds, but no, he was delicious.

Fruit trees are not baiting.........apples fall naturally....so do pears. Shoot away. Problem bear and worried about the family.......I would hunt more and post a little less about the results if you know what I mean......go get 'em.

Not sure he is a true trash bear.  Never had any problems before and neither have our neighbors.  The night he got my trash we had salmon for dinner and there was trimmings from my deer from making jerky.  So salmon and deer would be hard to turn down I guess.  Do bear that eat meat taste bad?  His turds say he has been eatting the fawns.  I know of two missing fawns and his poo is full of deer hair.

Got me....I would think the more rancid the dinner the more rancid the bear. A fawn killer with a hint of apple.....only one way to find out......... :guns: :guns: :guns: :guns: :guns: :guns: :guns: :guns: :guns: :guns:

Bears are a cousin to the pig, so like the pig the bear will typically taste like what they've been eating. I think it takes some consistant eating of the same thing for several weeks or months for them to taste like what whatever they've been eating. Your bear sounds like he has a well rounded diet, probably better than most people we know. :chuckle: Either way  :mgun2:

No hobo that's all the trash I put out and is on my property.  It is hard sitting here at work.  I wanna go home and check my cam and see if he came in last night.
