Smile said it all.
« on: October 21, 2013, 07:35:10 PM »
Took my step son out on Sunday for the first time this year. Full moon and suppose to be seventy but we where going to give it our best effort. First thing in the morning on the way to walk in behind closed gates we see eyes in a clear cut as we round the Corner so we back up turn the truck off and a sneak down the road to wait for daylight. When we can finally see its two spikes and fourteen does. So back in the truck and off to the gate hoping no one else beat us there. No trucks so we hike in to the cut I sit him on a stump at the bottom and hike up top to come back over the top and try to push him a deer. After an hour long hike I start down through the cut. Nothing any where. I get to within 50 yards from my son and the vine maple five feet to my right explodes and almost gives me a heart attack. I run back up the hill and start yelling at Kam to shoot. I am on him but waiting for the shot knowing that in about three seconds we will never see this buck again and boom down he goes. One proud dad. Best part of the day was when my son told me he wouldn't have cared who shot it but that we created a memory for life together.

Congrats that's a great picture

:yeah:  Its amazing to watch the folks just driving by the clearcuts and looking but not believing there are deer in there simply because they cant see them.
