GMU 290 QUESTION
« on: October 22, 2013, 06:09:04 PM »
looking for a little advise. I have quite a few points built up. should be in the running for the late desert (gmu 290) rifle tag. I am considering archery hunting this unit. it pushes the season back into late nov and early dec. has anyone had this archery tag? If so how was it? do you think is better just to hold out for the rifle tag?

Nature. It's cheaper than therapy.

Late archery in that unit can be tough. Between all the bird hunters and yote chasers, deer are weary and hard to come by. Just my observations from living in the area for the past 10 years. :twocents:

Duck and coyote hunters aren't an issue, it's the 32 tags for deer that make that unit almost impossible to be successful with archery equipment. Had the tag last year it was a waste of my quality points.

Very low success rates due to tough conditions.
Waste of points
